Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar chat shows data about the electricity with further classification by level of consumption and production in the year 2014.
Throughout the century, electricity usage has been increased rapidly among different countries. by looking at the information given below their is overall 10 biggest countries who used to produced electricity as well as the biggest contenders to use electricity. China is ranked first in both consumption as well as production of the electricity ( producing 5398 kWh and almost same amount of consumption).United states is ranked below China on second spot where US also usage of almost 3866 kWh of electricity and producing almost the same as pf their usage.
Then their are also countries like (Russia, Japan, India) who are bigger but their electricity production and consumption is low as compared to China and US around 800kWh to 100kWh.Then their are other remaining countries whom their electricity usage is low compared to the countries on top .They produced around 400kwh minimum to 650kWh maximum. but one important thing in one of these countries is that Germany's exhaustion of electricity is high and their manufacturing power is low.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the main leaders correctly: China ranks first in both measures, followed by the United States, and you note Germany as an exception where consumption exceeds production. These are relevant features, but the response only partly summarises the chart. The overview is unclear, and the claim that electricity use “has been increased rapidly” over the century is unsupported because the chart gives figures for 2014 only. Several comparisons are also inaccurate or too vague: the middle countries are not all around 800–100 kWh, and the lower group’s production range is not 400–650 kWh. Report the key contrasts more precisely, including the large gap between the top two countries and the much lower figures for the rest.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic sequence: it introduces the chart, discusses China and the United States, then groups the remaining countries and mentions Germany. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, there is no clear, concise overview, and the progression is weakened by repeated transitions such as “Then their are” and “Then their are other remaining countries.” The grouping of Russia, Japan and India is not clearly connected to the figures, while the final comparison is added abruptly. Use separate paragraphs for an overview and selected details, and organise the data into clear groups with accurate linking phrases such as “By contrast” or “Among the remaining countries.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “consumption,” “production,” “ranked,” and “manufacturing,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing a chart. “Biggest contenders to use electricity” is unclear, “exhaustion of electricity” does not mean consumption, and “manufacturing power” is not an appropriate substitute for production. There are also spelling and word-form problems, including “bar chat” and “produced” where “produce” is needed. Choose precise chart language and avoid decorative expressions; terms such as “electricity consumption,” “generation,” “figure,” and “exceeded” would make comparisons clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer sentences and comparisons, but the range is limited and errors occur frequently enough to make parts difficult to follow. Examples include “electricity usage has been increased rapidly,” where the verb form is incorrect, and “their is overall 10 biggest countries,” which has agreement and article problems. The sentence beginning “Then their are also countries like…” is also difficult to parse, with unclear comparison structure and punctuation. Capitalisation and spacing are inconsistent, as in “by looking” and “consumption).United states.” Practise accurate simple comparison sentences first, then combine them using controlled clauses; check subject–verb agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries.
