Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main pattern accurately: China leads both measures, Korea is lowest, and Germany is the exception where consumption exceeds production. You also include figures for all ten countries, which gives the report relevant coverage. However, the overview is brief and the comparisons are mostly presented as a country-by-country list rather than highlighting the major contrasts, such as the large gap between China and the United States and the much lower figures for the remaining countries. There is also a factual error: China’s consumption is 5,322 billion kWh, not 5,388. To strengthen the response, check figures carefully and group the data around the most significant comparisons.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and two body paragraphs. The grouping of the first five countries and then the remaining countries helps the reader follow the coverage. However, progression within the paragraphs is largely a sequence of separate country figures, so comparisons between countries are limited. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “While,” and “However” are used, but some do not clearly express the relationship between the information that follows. Punctuation and spacing also interrupt the flow, for example “Overall,it” and “While, In Canada”. Organise the body around meaningful comparisons and use transitions only where they clarify a contrast or addition.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “production,” “consumption,” “respectively,” and “billion kwh,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors make parts of the report less natural, such as “produce electricity and consumption higher,” “consumtion electicity,” and “the lowest country in electricity proiduction.” Repetition of “up to” also makes the descriptions imprecise; it is not the best way to report chart values. Use accurate forms such as “generated” and “consumed,” and vary reporting verbs while keeping the wording straightforward. Check spelling and use the standard unit form, “billion kWh.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “whereas” and a relative clause in the overview. However, errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to interpret. For example, “China and America both were produce” has an incorrect verb form, while “Germany only one country who…” is missing a verb and uses an unsuitable clause structure. Articles and agreement are also inconsistent, as in “the China was highest” and “others country.” Many data statements are fragments or lack a clear subject–verb structure. Practise building complete sentences with a consistent past-tense reporting verb, and check articles, plurals and punctuation before submitting.
