Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the chart’s subject and give a relevant overview, noting that China is highest and Korea is among the lowest. Several key comparisons are also reported accurately, including China’s figures and the United States’ second-place position. However, coverage is incomplete: the sentence about Russia is missing the country name and its figures, and the response ends before the Germany comparison is finished. The overview also does not clearly summarise the main pattern that production generally exceeds consumption, with Germany as the notable exception. Some details, such as Canada’s difference, are mentioned without figures or a clear comparison. To strengthen the response, report the main trends explicitly and cover the lower-ranked countries more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to comparisons among countries. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “To begin with,” and “Moreover” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression is uneven: the Russia comparison is grammatically incomplete (“the was on the third place”), and the final sentence stops mid-thought, leaving the Germany information unresolved. Some transitions, including “On the other side,” do not clearly express the relationship between the comparisons, while several countries are grouped without a consistent order or clear explanation. Organise the details into a clear sequence, such as the highest producers followed by the remaining countries, and ensure each paragraph and sentence is complete.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for describing the chart, including “generation,” “utilization,” “production,” “consumption,” and “difference.” This gives the response enough topic-specific language to communicate its general purpose. However, the range is repetitive, with “electricity” and “utilization” used frequently, and some word choices or collocations are awkward, such as “electrical energy the production” and “electricity generation was significantly higher than the usage.” Spelling errors are also noticeable, including “inforamation,” “higheer,” “urilization,” and “billiuon,” which reduce clarity and control. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “electricity output” and “power consumption,” and proofread spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentences, including comparisons with “whereas” and “while.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “in an top ten countries,” “was highest in the China,” and the incomplete clause “the was on the third place.” There are also problems with sentence construction and agreement in “the production of electricity and consumption was higheer,” as well as missing or misplaced articles and prepositions. The final sentence is unfinished, so its grammatical relationship cannot be understood. Practise building complete comparison sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check articles, agreement, and sentence endings.
