Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main pattern that China leads both production and consumption, and you include several relevant figures, such as China’s 5,398 and 5,322 billion kWh. However, the overview contains inaccurate comparisons: France was not the lowest producer (Korea had the lowest production), and Brazil was not the lowest consumer (Korea’s consumption was lower). There is also a major data error in reporting Russia’s production as 1,957 rather than 1,057. Some comparisons are useful, including Germany’s consumption exceeding its production, but the account omits or misstates other key rankings. To make the summary more complete and reliable, check figures carefully and base the overview on the highest and lowest values across both measures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs of supporting details. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the information, and phrases such as “Overall” and “Moreover” signal transitions. However, some links are awkward or unclear, particularly “Russia and Japan in these both countries,” which makes the comparison difficult to follow. The final paragraph also moves quickly between Korea, Brazil, Canada, France and Germany without a clear grouping principle. Organise the details into clearer comparisons—for example, the leading countries first and the lower figures afterwards—and use linking phrases that show whether you are comparing production or consumption.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “producer,” “consumer,” “manufacturer,” and “second highest,” so the topic is generally clear. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing chart data. “Experienced the most significant producer” does not express the intended meaning, and “the less consumer” and “the lesser consumer” are not natural comparative forms. “Biggest manufacturer” is understandable but less precise than language such as “largest producer.” Spelling errors, including “comsumption” and “repectively,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for consistent, precise terms such as “production,” “consumption,” “highest,” and “lowest,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “whereas” and a sentence beginning “While,” but control is uneven. Errors in sentence structure and verb forms appear in examples such as “how much electricity produce and get consumed” and “China experienced the most significant producer.” The construction “Russia and Japan in these both countries the production … seen as” is also difficult to parse, while “Canada any France, these both countries consume” lacks a clear grammatical structure. These problems sometimes make relationships between figures unclear. Practise forming complete comparison sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “Russia produced …, while Japan generated …,” and check articles, agreement and punctuation.
