Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main ranking pattern accurately: China leads production and consumption, followed by the United States and Russia, while Korea is lowest. You also report many figures correctly and note Germany’s unusual result, where consumption exceeds production. This gives the response relevant coverage of the chart. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: India’s consumption is described as “production,” and the overview does not mention the broad pattern that production is higher than consumption in nearly all countries. The comparisons for the middle-ranked countries are mostly presented as a list rather than highlighting the most notable differences. A clearer overview and more selective comparison of key patterns would make the summary more complete and developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs covering the countries. Sequencing from the largest producers to the smaller ones helps the reader follow the data, and transitions such as “Moreover,” “Similarly,” and “Lastly” signal movement between points. However, some links are mechanical or do not express the relationship clearly. For example, “In contrast to the two countries Russia…” does not clearly connect the comparison, while “Similarly to two countries which are France and Brazil” makes the grouping difficult to follow. The middle section also combines several figures in one sentence, reducing clarity. Use clearer topic grouping and more precise referencing so comparisons are easier to track.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “production,” “consumption,” “ranked,” “averaging,” and “accounted for,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts to vary how figures are introduced. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “slightly equally,” “accumulated production,” and “consumption was bigger than production.” Spelling errors such as “comsumption,” “anf,” and “nunber” also reduce accuracy. Repeated use of “was at” and “in production” makes the description less precise. Aim for standard chart language such as “stood at,” “generated,” and “consumed,” and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including comparisons with “whereas” and “while,” and most of the data remains understandable. Some grammatical errors, however, affect clarity. For example, “the highest production and consumption is the country of China” has an incorrect sentence structure and agreement; “Japan production anf consumption was” lacks a possessive form and has faulty agreement; and “while in production was at 698.8” is incomplete and misconstructed. Tense and number are also inconsistent in phrases such as “its consumption is” and “billions kWh.” To improve, use complete subject–verb structures, maintain consistent past-tense reporting, and check singular/plural agreement and sentence boundaries.
