Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You include figures for all ten countries, and most of the reported production and consumption values match the chart. However, the response mainly lists data rather than selecting and summarising the key features. The overview, “there are noticeable difference,” is too general to identify the main pattern: China and the United States lead by a wide margin, while the other countries produce much less. You could also highlight that production exceeds consumption in nearly every country, with Germany as the exception. The final reference to “the Rank and city” is unclear and does not describe the chart. A more informative overview and a few meaningful comparisons would make the response address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response follows the chart’s country ranking, so the reader can generally trace the figures from China to Korea. However, it is presented as one long paragraph, with little grouping or progression beyond repeating “The next country.” This makes the report feel like a list rather than a summary organised around important comparisons. The opening repeats the same idea (“The given bar chart elucidates…” and “The chart compares…”), while the closing sentence about “Rank and city” does not provide a useful conclusion. Group the leading countries separately from those with lower figures, and use clear links to compare production with consumption. This would create a more coherent report without relying on repetitive sequencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant basic terms such as “production,” “consumption,” “bar chart,” and “country,” and the figures are usually paired with the intended categories. However, the vocabulary is repetitive and some expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, including “rank country,” “production electricity,” and “the chart elucidates information.” There are also spelling errors such as “productioj” and “countey,” which reduce the accuracy of the report. Use standard chart language and vary the verbs and comparison phrases—for example, “shows,” “produced,” “consumed,” “was higher than,” and “by a wide margin.” More precise vocabulary would help you describe patterns rather than simply name each value.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Most of the response uses simple sentence patterns, and the reader can usually understand the figures being reported. However, grammatical errors occur frequently in the repeated constructions. For example, “China that production electricity is 5398” lacks a clear relative clause and has an incomplete noun phrase; “there are noticeable difference” has a subject–verb agreement and plural error. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “the next is Brazil that…” followed by several ideas joined together. The final sentence, “The chart compares the electricity in the Rank and city,” is difficult to interpret. Practise accurate comparative sentences, such as “China produced 5,398 billion kWh, slightly more than it consumed,” and separate each comparison with correct punctuation.
