Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the chart’s subject and give a broad overview, correctly noting that China and the USA lead both production and consumption, and that Germany is unusual because consumption exceeds production. However, the response only partially reports the main features: several figures are inaccurate, including Korea’s values, which are about 485 and 450 billion kWh, not 4,851 and 4,495. The claim that Russia is “half” in production and consumption is unclear, and the final generalisation that countries produced electricity according to their usage is not supported, since Germany consumed more than it produced. Select a few accurate comparisons and explain them clearly to develop the summary.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has paragraph breaks and attempts an overview followed by further comments, so there is some organisation. However, the progression is difficult to follow: the second paragraph combines the overview with several figures, while the final paragraph repeats the China and USA comparison and introduces unclear points such as Russia “making and half consumed” electricity. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “In conclusion,” and “Finally” are used, but they do not consistently show how the ideas relate, and the conclusion largely repeats earlier information. Organise the response into a concise overview and two comparison-focused paragraphs, grouping countries by their figures and using clear references.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “production,” “consumption,” “highest,” and “lowest,” and the reader can generally identify the topic. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make the meaning awkward: “the mostly higly usage,” “higly produced,” and “countries produced the electricity high their ussage” are not natural expressions. Spelling errors such as “comparentively,” “spoted,” and “Finaly” also reduce accuracy. Use standard terms consistently, such as “electricity production,” “electricity consumption,” “the highest figure,” and “exceeded,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, but the range is limited and errors are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to interpret. For example, “as we can seen” has an incorrect verb form, while “The lowest consumers of electricity was in Korea” has problems with agreement and sentence construction. The sentence beginning “The second highest country was the USA” also does not clearly connect the country to its production and consumption figures. Punctuation is inconsistent, as in “In conclusion, China and USA.” Practise accurate comparisons using patterns such as “China produced X, while it consumed Y” and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete sentence structure.
