Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the chart’s subject and give a relevant overview: China leads both measures, while Korea is among the lowest. You also include several accurate figures for China, the USA, Russia, Japan and India. However, the report only partially covers the data: it ends mid-sentence after “Brazil showed the highest level with,” and the claim that Korea ranked lowest in both measures is inaccurate, since Germany had the lowest production and Korea the lowest consumption. The comparison of Russia, Japan and India as being at “almost same position” is also unclear, and the lower-ranked countries are not systematically compared. Select the main contrasts accurately and complete the account of the remaining figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: an opening sentence is followed by an overview and then paragraphs attempting to compare the leading and lower-ranked countries. This gives the reader a basic sense of the report’s structure. However, progression is limited because comparisons are grouped unclearly—for example, Russia, Japan and India are described as being at “almost same position,” despite their different values—and the final paragraph breaks off before its point is completed. Linking is also sometimes awkward, as in “whereas consumption showed least level for all three nations.” Use a clearer sequence, such as leaders, middle-ranking countries and lower figures, and ensure each paragraph develops a complete comparison.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “production,” “consumption,” “generation,” “utilization,” “supply” and “demand,” and the repeated use of “billion kWh” helps communicate the measurements. However, the range is not always controlled: “position” is repeated where ranking or output would be more precise, and phrases such as “highest position for supply” and “same position in the demand” are unnatural. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “electical,” “coutries,” “Idia” and “billlion.” These do not make the topic impossible to understand, but they reduce clarity and polish. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling of key terms and country names.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some longer sentence forms, including a comparison using “while” and a clause beginning “whereas,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in basic sentence construction and agreement: “All three countries … were stood” should be “stood,” and “France, Brazil and Korea was” needs a plural verb. Articles and sentence boundaries are also problematic, as in “China had both highest level” and the opening line, which lacks clear punctuation and a complete sentence structure. The final sentence is unfinished, further disrupting accuracy. Build reliable simple comparison sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking verb forms, articles, agreement and punctuation.
