IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The chart below shows the number of households in the US by their annual income in 2007, 2011 and 2015.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The bar chart illustrates the various of households in the US by their annual earnings in three specific years 2007, 2011 and 2015.

In 2007, the highest number of housholds earned in the range of $100,000 or more, it around 30 millions, followed by the least families had annual income among $75,000-$99,999, it was 15 millions. Futhermore, 25 millions received less than $25,000.

In 2011, the trand was changed in earning per year in the range of $25,000-$49,999 which had most number of households. However, the lowest famillies were still accounted for previous package.

In 2015, families whose annual earnings between $100,000 or more is rose drameticaly and reached at approximately 34 millions. Also, 20 millions families had earn $50,000-$74,999.

Overall, it is evident that, most of the households in US earned in the range of $100,000 or more, while lowest had $75,000-$99,999 annual income as well as same trend observed among three years.
