Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response attempts to summarize the data but fails to provide a clear overview or accurately report the main features. The description of the data is confusing; for example, stating '25 house households are less than $25000' is unclear, and the analysis of trends is vague. The report lacks specific data points to support the comparisons made, and the interpretation of the shifts between 2007, 2011, and 2015 is not supported by the provided chart. To improve, you must clearly identify the highest and lowest categories and describe the trends with precision, ensuring that the figures are accurately represented.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is very limited, relying on simple transitions like 'In 2007' and 'In 2011'. The referencing is often unclear, such as 'others two almost remains same' and 'the who lies in between', which makes it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison. To achieve a higher score, you should use a wider range of linking words and ensure that each sentence clearly connects to the previous one to create a smooth flow of information.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on the same phrases throughout the text. There are significant issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'are on above' and 'reached at above'. The lack of precise terminology to describe statistical trends (e.g., 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'accounted for') limits the ability to convey the information effectively. You should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to charts and data analysis to improve your precision and range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'others two almost remains same'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence structures. The range of grammatical structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, correct verb tenses, and the accurate use of articles and prepositions. Developing more complex sentence structures will also help improve your overall grammatical range.
