Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response covers all parts of the task and provides a clear overview of the main trends. You have successfully selected and reported the key features, such as the stability of the 50,000-74,999 USD group and the significant increase in the highest income bracket by 2015. However, the overview could be more precise; for example, referring to 'high amounts' is vague. Additionally, the data reporting is generally accurate, though some minor inaccuracies in data interpretation occur (e.g., describing the 75,000-99,999 USD group as 'mostly steady' when it shows a clear dip and rise). Overall, the information is well-selected and supports the main features effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs that group data by income categories. The progression of ideas is generally clear. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'In 2007', 'This shows', and 'Lastly', to link sentences. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. For instance, the transition between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother to avoid a list-like feel. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different income brackets, which helps the reader follow the information easily.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'fluctuating', 'increment', and 'annualy'. There are some instances of awkward word choice, such as 'manoeuvre the amount', which is not appropriate in this context, and 'inhibitants' (likely meant 'inhabitants'). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, some errors in collocation and word choice persist. However, these errors do not impede communication, and the range is sufficient to convey the necessary information about the chart clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('the persons who earn... are', 'the inhibitants... accounts for') and minor punctuation or spelling slips ('throught', 'moslty'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely impede the reader's understanding of the data. To reach a higher band, focus on ensuring consistent subject-verb agreement and refining the use of articles and prepositions. The sentence variety is sufficient to maintain the flow of the report.
