Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have attempted to summarize the chart, the analysis is incomplete. You have not covered all the income categories provided in the chart, and the reporting of data is inaccurate in several places (e.g., stating 30 million for 2011 when the chart shows different figures). To improve, ensure you provide a more comprehensive overview of all data points and double-check your data extraction to ensure accuracy. The lack of sufficient detail and the failure to reach the word count limit prevent a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'Furthermore', the connections between sentences are sometimes mechanical or confusing. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where 'All the other' is vague. To improve, focus on grouping related data more logically and using a wider variety of linking words to show the relationship between the income brackets and the years. Ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence to guide the reader through your analysis.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You frequently use the term 'housework' instead of 'households', which is a significant error as these words have very different meanings. Other phrases like 'show a fluctuating trend' are used without specific supporting detail. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'increased', 'decreased', 'remained stable', or 'peaked'. Avoid repeating the same words and try to incorporate more varied vocabulary to describe the trends shown in the chart.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'number of households... were 25 millions') and article usage. The sentence structures are relatively simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Errors such as 'slightly decrease reaches to' and 'despite of slightly changes occurs' impede the flow and clarity of your writing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that prepositions are used correctly. Practicing more complex sentence structures will also help improve your range.
