Student answer (Band 5.0)
The chart illustrates the number of houses in the US by their total income in various years 2007, 2011 and 2015.
Overall, it is clear that in year 2015, the houses whose prices approached to $100,000 or more than that, had the highest range which is up to 34 million approximately. But, in all other years, those households which had the prices up to $25,000-$49,000 also seemed best in annual income. The most lowest number of households are those which annual income up to $75,000-$99,000. Beside this other annual incomes $50,000-$74,999 had almost same number of homes their is very slight difference in these.
So, the graph demonstrates, number of houses that are in US about $25,000-$49,000 had highest annual income all over the cases. Furthermore, $100,000 or more amount also had the best regards in 2015 while in other cases the most gradually decrease graph in number of households by annual income is $75,000-$99,999.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarize the main features of the chart, but it struggles with accuracy and clarity. You correctly identify that the $100,000+ category saw growth by 2015, but your description of the other categories is confusing. For instance, you state that the $25,000-$49,000 category was the 'best' in all years, which is not clearly supported by the data provided. Furthermore, the phrasing 'most lowest' is inaccurate, and the analysis of the $75,000-$99,000 category is difficult to follow. To improve, focus on clearly identifying the highest and lowest points for each year and describing the trends (increase/decrease) more precisely rather than using vague terms like 'best'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into an introduction, an overview, and a body paragraph, which provides a basic structure. However, the progression of ideas is often unclear. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical or misused, such as 'Beside this' and 'So, the graph demonstrates'. The referencing is occasionally confusing, making it hard for the reader to follow the comparison between the different income brackets. To improve, use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'In contrast', 'Furthermore', 'Conversely') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother flow of information.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You frequently use the word 'houses' or 'homes' when referring to 'households', which is a significant inaccuracy in this context. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'prices approached to' (instead of 'incomes reached') and 'best regards' (which is not appropriate for data description). The phrase 'most lowest' is grammatically incorrect. To reach a higher band, you should use more precise terminology related to data analysis, such as 'figures', 'categories', 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'accounted for'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'the houses whose prices approached to $100,000', 'their is very slight difference', and 'number of houses that are in US about $25,000-$49,000'. Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and ensuring that your subjects and verbs agree. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles ('the US') and incorrect prepositions will help improve your score significantly.
