Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to summarize the data but fails to provide a clear overview of the main trends. While it identifies some categories, the reporting is often inaccurate or confusing. For example, the statement that households earning 50-75 thousand dollars had an 'equal percentage' in every year is not supported by the chart, as the bars clearly show variation. Furthermore, the description of the data is fragmented, and the lack of precise data points makes it difficult for the reader to follow the trends. To improve, you must focus on identifying the most significant changes and comparing them accurately using the figures provided in the chart.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices such as 'To begins with' and 'Moreover' is often mechanical and sometimes grammatically incorrect. Referencing is also unclear; for instance, the phrase 'have given their accountability' is confusing and does not help the flow of information. The transition between ideas is abrupt, and the overall structure lacks the cohesion required for a higher band. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus would significantly enhance the readability of your response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often used incorrectly, which hinders the clarity of the report. Phrases like 'have given their accountability' and 'have significantly down' are non-standard and do not accurately describe the data. There is also a lack of variety in reporting verbs and nouns related to data analysis. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise terminology for describing trends, such as 'fluctuated,' 'remained stable,' or 'reached a peak,' and ensure that your word choices are appropriate for an academic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the response that impede communication. Examples include 'households are come in the line of', 'has taken peaked', and 'the houses range of 50 to 75 thousand dollars'. These errors involve subject-verb agreement, tense usage, and sentence structure. While the meaning is generally discernible, the high frequency of errors makes the text difficult to read. You should focus on mastering basic sentence structures and proofreading for common errors in verb tense and preposition usage before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
