Student answer (Band 4.0)

The given bar graph chart has reprensented the number of household in the us by their annual income in 2007,2011,2015 .

As it is observed that the figures for imprisonment in the three years and those three years never show an overall pattern .Rather shows fluctuation in all three years.

If we look at the first year which is 2007 here we see that darkest green bar in the graph has been the tallest amongst than other this represents this annual income has been rise up in this year and others are rising gradually.

And the other two year data showing the jump of the number of household by annual income which is risen up from the previous year 2007 and they got people got surge in their annual income .And if you see closely the second last graph of years is same as it is in the previous years.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0

The response fails to accurately interpret the data provided in the chart. The student mentions 'imprisonment' instead of household income, which indicates a complete misunderstanding of the task topic. Furthermore, the description of the data is vague and lacks specific figures or clear comparisons between the income brackets. The summary does not identify the main trends or key features of the graph, such as the shift in the number of households across the different income categories over the three years. The response is largely irrelevant to the provided visual information, resulting in a very low score for task achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The response lacks logical organization and progression. The sentences are disjointed, and the use of cohesive devices is minimal and often misused, such as the transition 'Rather shows fluctuation'. Paragraphing is absent, and the overall structure does not guide the reader through the information in a meaningful way. The referencing is unclear, and the lack of logical flow makes it difficult to follow the writer's intent. The response does not present a clear overview or a coherent summary of the data.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. There are significant errors in word choice, such as using 'imprisonment' instead of 'income' and 'darkest green bar' without context. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information accurately. The student struggles to use appropriate terminology for describing charts or trends, relying on basic and often inaccurate phrasing. The frequent errors in word choice and the lack of precision significantly impede communication throughout the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the figures... never show'), incorrect tense usage, and awkward sentence construction. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing spaces after commas and run-on sentences. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, poorly constructed sentences. The high frequency of errors makes the text difficult to read and understand, reflecting a lack of control over basic grammatical rules.
