Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the chart, including the trends for different income groups. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For example, the description of the $50,000-$74,999 group as having 'similar a household number' is vague and lacks precision regarding the actual data points. The overview in the final paragraph is a bit repetitive and fails to highlight the most significant contrast effectively. To reach a higher band, you should focus on grouping data more logically and providing more precise comparisons of the figures, rather than just listing them chronologically.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'As regards' and 'As to'. The transition between ideas is functional but lacks sophistication. The concluding summary is a bit disjointed from the body paragraphs. Improving the flow between sentences by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'the four income group') is grammatically accurate would improve the overall coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'illustrates the citizen of US households' and 'houldhold' (spelling error). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on repetitive structures like 'the figure of' and 'the household number'. To improve, you should incorporate more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a marginal increase', and ensure accurate spelling throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'the four income group except the highest one' (pluralization error) and 'shared the same trend to eachother' (preposition error). There are also issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and sentence construction would be highly beneficial.
