Student answer (Band 4.5)

The chart shows the stats of US households in different years.we will see that in the mentioned years how often did the demand of household ,measuring by the annual income remained at the top of the chart. It demonstrates that the number of households in the year 2007 was almost reached by more than $[redacted phone] and it was the subsequent rise. compare to it, till 2011 the greatest amount of the household remained 25-50 thousand dollars which was comparitively at the lower frequency than the prior.in the year 2015 the chart shows the highest level of the number oh households in US which was more than $[redacted phone] and stayed the same for a long period of time as compared to that of in 2007. It can be concluded that the annual income had raised in the US to the highest level by 2025 that the people raised that standard of living more than compare to any of the past year.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response identifies a few relevant features, including that the $100,000-or-more group was largest in 2007 and 2015, and that the $25,000–$49,999 category was highest in 2011. However, the account is minimal and several claims misrepresent the chart. The 2015 figure for the highest-income group rose to about 33.5 million; it did not “stay the same for a long period,” and the chart does not show that incomes or living standards rose by 2025. There is no clear, accurate overview of the main trends across all five income groups, and most categories are omitted. Focus on household counts, compare the three years accurately, and avoid conclusions about demand or living standards that the chart cannot support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a basic sequence through 2007, 2011 and 2015, and phrases such as “compare to it” and “It can be concluded” attempt to connect ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the opening mixes an introduction with an unclear claim, and the comparisons are not consistently expressed. For example, “it was the subsequent rise” does not make clear what rose, while “stayed the same for a long period” conflicts with the stated comparison. The response is presented as one continuous paragraph, with no distinct overview or organised grouping of details. Use a clear introduction, a concise overview, and separate paragraphs comparing the main figures and trends.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “number of households,” “annual income,” “highest level,” and “frequency,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing a chart. “Demand of household” does not describe the data, which records household numbers, and “remained at the top of the chart” is vague. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “comparitively” and “oh,” and imprecise phrases such as “raised that standard of living.” Choose precise terms such as “category,” “figure,” and “increased,” and use income bands consistently when making comparisons.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some longer sentence forms, including “It can be concluded that…” and clauses beginning “which,” but control is uneven. Errors in sentence boundaries and punctuation appear from the opening (“years.we”) and throughout, making relationships between ideas harder to follow. There are problems with verb forms and agreement in “how often did the demand … remained” and “the number … was almost reached,” as well as awkward tense and structure in “the people raised that standard of living.” The sentence patterns are mostly repetitive, and complex attempts are often faulty. Practise writing short, complete comparisons first, then combine them with accurate clauses—for example, “The figure rose from about 29.5 million in 2007 to 33.5 million in 2015.”
