Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You give a clear final preference for Science and technology, and you mention both sides of the debate. However, the discussion is only minimally developed: the benefit of History is reduced to “Be strong and live a better life,” without explaining how studying the past can build understanding or inform decisions. The Science and technology points—AI, robots and a Tesla car that can fly—are also asserted rather than explained, and the example is not clearly connected to school learning. Your opening repeats the opposing views without establishing a clear line of argument. The response contains 245 words, so it is five words below the required minimum; 11 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop relevant reasons and explain each example to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic overall shape, with an opening, discussion of the two subject areas and a concluding paragraph. Linking expressions such as “On the other hand,” “Overall” and “Conclusion” help signal movement between points. However, progression within paragraphs is weak: repeated statements such as “Some people argue that this point” do not add a clear reason or connect ideas. The position also shifts: you first say History is the most important subject, then conclude that Science and technology are most important, without explaining the change. Some links, including “On the other side,” are used mechanically, and the final paragraph repeats earlier claims. Organise each body paragraph around one view, explain it, and use clear references to connect supporting details.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a basic set of topic-related words, including “History,” “Science and technology,” “AI” and “future,” so the general subject is identifiable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and often imprecise, which limits how clearly you can express the arguments. Phrases such as “this point,” “future level is very high” and “unpaid workers” do not communicate the intended ideas precisely; “unpaid workers” may also give a misleading description of robots. There are spelling and word-form errors, for example “wast” and “Al” where the context appears to require “AI.” Build a more precise range for discussing education and benefits, such as “historical understanding,” “scientific innovation” and “prepare students for future careers,” and check spelling and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt some longer sentences and use basic sentence patterns to communicate a general opinion, but control is inconsistent and the range remains limited. Errors in agreement and sentence construction appear in examples such as “all science and technology books is” and “Science books as a compulsory subjects.” Other sentences are incomplete or awkwardly joined, including “Because, in future mostly used AI features” and “I thing History is most important subject school.” Articles, plurals and punctuation also need attention; for instance, commas after “Because” are not appropriate in these sentence openings. Practise building complete subject–verb–object sentences, then add subordinate clauses to explain reasons. Proofread each sentence for agreement, articles and whether it has a complete main clause.
