Student answer (Band 5.5)
According to few people history is the most important subject for the school while other people argue that subjects like Science and Technology shall be given more importance in today's world. In my opinion, aquiring knowledge of history is as much important as learning about science and technology in current era. This essay will examine both viewpoints.
Over the years, history has played a fundamental role in providing information to the evolving or new generations. It serves the purpose of making people aware of the situations that have happened in the past. For example, when countries took part in wars with eachother like India and Pakistan, and later on how these respective countries progressed through geographical and law changes. Therefore, gaining information on such topics can only be learnt through history.
On the other hand, with growing use of science and technology in the practical world, it has become mandatory for the students to learn and understand their use. From classrooms to offices, everything is dependent on the use of these two skills. For instance, science subjects like physics, chemistry, and biology are involved in shaping the world. Moreover, technological advancements like Artificial Intelligence also has become a key factor for progress in the practical world.
In conclusion, history is one of the essential part of our lives as our future generations build on it. along with that, learning about science and technology is equally import

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state a balanced opinion: history is “as much important as” science and technology. The two body paragraphs are relevant, with examples such as the history of India and Pakistan and the role of physics, chemistry, biology, and artificial intelligence. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The historical example is unclear, and the science-and-technology paragraph asserts their importance without explaining in detail how these subjects benefit students or society. The conclusion is also cut off, so your final position is not fully restated. The response is 14 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your ideas. Add specific explanation and complete the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each viewpoint, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main direction. However, some connections are mechanical, and the example about India and Pakistan is difficult to follow because several ideas are compressed into one sentence. The final sentence is incomplete, ending with “equally import,” which disrupts the conclusion and leaves the essay without a finished ending. Develop each paragraph around one clear point, explain how each example supports it, and use referencing that makes the links between ideas explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “fundamental role,” “geographical,” “technological advancements,” and “Artificial Intelligence.” These choices help you discuss both school subjects and their wider importance. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “as much important,” “practical world,” and “law changes.” There are also spelling and form errors, including “aquiring” and “eachother,” and the repeated use of “use” makes some phrasing less precise. Aim for natural academic collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe science and technology as important in “modern society,” and explain that history helps students understand past events and their consequences.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning “when” and “how,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. Some grammatical errors are present, however. In “subjects like Science and Technology shall be given,” the modal “shall” is not appropriate for this general claim; “should be given” would fit better. There are agreement and article problems in “Artificial Intelligence also has become” and “one of the essential part,” and the conclusion begins a new sentence with lowercase “along.” The final phrase is incomplete, so it cannot function as a complete sentence. Review subject–verb agreement, singular and plural forms, and sentence boundaries, then proofread to ensure every sentence is complete.
