Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You introduce both viewpoints and state that “both history and latest subjects are important,” so your position is identifiable. You also give relevant examples of what history can teach, including “moral values,” past medical treatments and ancient innovations. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: the view favouring science and technology is mentioned but not explained, and your own opinion is not supported with reasons or a specific example. The discussion therefore remains incomplete and ideas are under-developed. The response is also 109 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to develop both sides. To improve, explain the benefits of each subject, compare them, and support your position with a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening paragraph introduces the topic, followed by a paragraph about history and a brief statement about science and technology. Phrases such as “At first” and “Even” signal relationships between ideas. However, the overall progression is limited because the science-and-technology point is not developed into a full discussion, and the conclusion is absent. Some linking is mechanical or unclear, as in “Now we will discuss about this clearly,” which does not advance the argument. The history paragraph also lists several examples without showing how they connect to a central claim. Use separate, balanced paragraphs for each viewpoint, link examples explicitly to your reasons, and finish with a concise conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “moral values,” “innovations,” “medical treatments,” and “kingdoms,” which helps communicate the subject matter. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make the writing less natural. Examples include “in now a days,” “future carrier,” “subjects related history,” and “the anceint people.” “Latest subjects” is also imprecise for the intended meaning; “modern subjects” or “science and technology” would be clearer. Aim to use accurate academic collocations such as “historical knowledge,” “career opportunities,” and “technological advances.” Proofreading spelling and choosing more precise phrases will make your ideas easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “Even some of the innovations…” and a sentence explaining what history teaches. However, the range remains limited, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries are frequent. For example, “Some people thinks” should use a plural verb, while “This will helps” has an incorrect verb form. The opening also joins several ideas with commas and then uses an unnecessary capital in “Now,” making the sentence difficult to control. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and separating complete ideas with full stops. Once simple sentences are reliable, add a few carefully controlled complex sentences using “because,” “while,” or “although.”
