Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some individual believe that history is one the most important subject at school. While other individual believe other subject like science and technology are more important then history. in this essay, I will discuss both viewpoints in depth and provide my opinion.
On the one hand, history is very important in school as it teach us about of our roots from where we came and get to know about our ancestors about what there goas where and what they very trying to achieve and what mistake they have done so we don't repeat then in future and also the good thing of how they fully obsessed about there mission which make us as a new generation motivated. Whereas it also teaches us about our religion and culture the thousand year of our culture and history we only came to known with the help of history only.
On the the other hand, science and technology is also very important science is a new world how to living with technology. With the help of science we get to know of the future weather which very helpful for farmer so there sew crop according to weather, With the help of technology now phone computer are build we can any knowledge of the world with the of science and technology we ae now able go outside of our planet which was almost a dream for a century before.
In my opinion both the subject are important to teach both have there own advantages so debate make no sense according to me we should learn both subject.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear personal view: history helps people understand their roots and avoid past mistakes, while science and technology offer practical benefits such as weather information for farmers and access to knowledge. These examples are relevant and show an understanding of the task. However, the two arguments are not developed equally: the history paragraph includes several points, but they are crowded together, while the science paragraph would benefit from explaining more fully how these subjects affect people’s lives. Your conclusion says both subjects matter, but does not clearly explain how they might complement one another. Develop fewer points with clearer explanation and support to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each viewpoint, and a concluding opinion. The signposts “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the comparison, and the ideas generally remain relevant to their paragraphs. This meets the lower-band expectation of a coherent arrangement and shows some of the clearer progression associated with a stronger response. However, the history paragraph strings many ideas together in one long sentence, and repeated “with the help of” makes the science paragraph feel mechanical. Some references, such as “they” in the history discussion, are unclear. Use shorter sentences, organise each paragraph around one main idea, and vary linking expressions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “ancestors,” “culture,” “weather,” “farmer,” and “technology.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “repeat them in future” and “outside of our planet.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make parts difficult to interpret. For example, “what there goas where” and “fully obsessed about there mission” obscure the intended meaning, while “science is a new world how to living with technology” is not a natural expression. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make your ideas clearer and more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “While” and longer sentences explaining the benefits of each subject. This shows some range, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, control is inconsistent: errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries occur in examples such as “history … teach us,” “both the subject are important,” and the opening fragment beginning “While other individual.” The long sentence in the history paragraph also joins several clauses without clear punctuation, making the relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then check agreement and punctuation.
