Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You introduce both sides of the debate and give a concluding preference for modern technology, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only minimally developed: the history paragraph repeats that students can learn about the past, while the technology paragraph mentions convenience and work efficiency without explaining these points clearly or giving a specific example. Your own position is also difficult to identify consistently, since the introduction presents the debate but the conclusion says both that technology helps people and that history is important. The response contains 228 words, which is 22 words below the required minimum; the eight words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop each viewpoint with a clear reason and a concrete example, then state your opinion consistently.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph about history, a paragraph about science and technology, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the other hand” and “Conclusion” help signal the intended stages. However, progression within paragraphs is weak, and several ideas are repeated rather than connected or extended—for example, the history section repeatedly refers to knowing the ancient past. Linking expressions such as “Another reason” and “As a result” are sometimes used mechanically, and the relationship between the ideas that follow them is unclear. The conclusion also introduces no clear resolution of the two views. Use one main point per paragraph, explain it in a logical sequence, and make references and transitions precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “history,” “science and technology,” “ancient past,” “opportunities,” and “conveniences,” which helps show the subject of the essay. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors strain the reader’s understanding. Examples include “blology,” “machinery” where the task refers to technology, “singificant,” and “morden.” Several phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “benefit to brain improve” and “using there life moderan technology.” Aim to learn accurate topic vocabulary and common collocations, then check spelling and word forms. More precise expressions would help you explain how historical knowledge or technological advances affect people.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt a few longer sentences, including “This is because many people benefit there life,” and use basic sentence openings such as “Another reason is that” and “A good example of this is.” However, sentence structures are very limited overall, and frequent errors in word order, articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries make several ideas difficult to understand. For example, “some people believe is history subjects more important in school” does not form a clear question or statement, while “The history subject many ancient with know” lacks a workable grammatical structure. Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent, particularly after commas and at sentence beginnings. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clear clauses using “because,” “which,” or “so.”
