Student answer (Band 6.5)

History have its own importance while Science and Technology carries its own weightage .History is important to know about past because without knowing about your past you can't prosper. Because there is a lot in history to learn from when there was not thing called science and technology but today it is part of our daily life. So History is important because you have to know from where we began and now where we are standing. History also teaches us the mistakes our elders or us did in past and how not to repeat them but infact learn from them and progress . History is very much important for your progress inand some times it also give us motivation so that if we talk about importance of history if is not more important than Science and Technology then it is equally importantt not less.

And now if i talk about Science and technology it is also very important as i also mentioned above it is part of our routine life. Science and Technology is in every thing from our mobile phoness to internet from our cars to out electric appliances and to be honest it is playing positive role in our daily life if we use it wisely it can help kids in studies, elders to lbrowse and internet and know what is happening in the world. Although It is also making our life easier but on the other hand it also have negative impacts if we misuse it it can ruin everything.

So in the end both our important for students learning because one tell us how this all started and teach us lesson and also tell us about our unsung heroes while other is part of daily life in order to progress in life everyone should be familiar with it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument for history relies on general statements about 'learning from mistakes' without providing a concrete example, such as studying historical conflicts to prevent future wars. Similarly, the discussion on science and technology is quite broad. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, illustrative examples to support your claims rather than relying on general assertions. The position is consistent throughout, but the overall development is limited.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'And now if i talk about...', 'So in the end...'). There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect sentences and ideas more fluidly. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between paragraphs would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic, everyday language (e.g., 'very much important', 'good', 'bad'). There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'carries its own weightage' and 'lbrowse'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or academic vocabulary limits the score. To improve, focus on using more precise synonyms and learning collocations appropriate for academic writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('History have', 'it also have'), missing articles ('in past'), and punctuation errors (e.g., 'mobile phoness', 'importantt'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed correctly.
