Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address both views and state an opinion, the arguments are underdeveloped and repetitive. For example, the claim that 'history is born' (likely meaning 'boring') is not supported by any logical explanation or relevant examples. The position is clear, but the lack of depth and the failure to reach the required length prevent a higher score. To improve, you must expand your points with specific examples and ensure you meet the word count to allow for a full discussion of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay has a basic structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is limited by the brevity of the text. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First and foremost' and 'Another key point', but they are often followed by repetitive or unclear sentences. Referencing is sometimes confusing, particularly in the conclusion where the same phrases from the introduction are repeated verbatim. Paragraphing is present, but the internal logic within the paragraphs is weak, making it difficult for the reader to follow a coherent argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors such as 'diffrente', 'becouse', 'studay', 'unversity', 'inforemaion', 'belive', and 'geat'. These errors, combined with the misuse of words like 'born' (presumably for 'boring'), impede communication. You rely on a very narrow range of words, often repeating the exact same phrases from the prompt rather than paraphrasing. To improve, you need to focus on accurate spelling and expanding your vocabulary to include more precise terms related to education and academic subjects.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The grammatical range is limited to simple sentence structures, and there are frequent errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the student don’t can study'), missing articles, and incorrect word order. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures makes the writing difficult to read. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb forms and article usage.
