Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people say History is one of the most important school subjects. but other people think that in todays world subjects like Science and technology are more important than History.

According to ongoing debate people think Science and technology are more important than history but History is also important to maintain the cultural and other passed information. Without History i thought student may not get enough information about History.

on the one hand science and technologies are more important because without technology survival rate is almost zero . Nowadays without technology we cant do anything. I have number of examples in my mind, one of the most important technology is internet, mobile phone and so own.

Science subject is most important subject to teach the students rather than history. Science subject have number of streams to get a opportunities than history.

History is important but according to my perspective it could be optional subject. because todays world depends on science not on history. if you studied in science and technologies you got a number of option to do in your life. your life become easier. in currents world everything is based on technology foe example house door are automatic,, cars are fully automatic.

In conclusion Science have major role in currents world in comparison to history . History is so boring subject and vey hard to learn because it has no creativity in it. but science and technology are very interesting .Student learn more quickly than history due to science experiments.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. For instance, the argument for science is supported by simple examples like 'automatic doors' and 'cars', but the discussion on history lacks depth, merely stating it is 'boring' or 'hard'. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments are underdeveloped and rely on over-generalizations. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced reasons for why history is valuable beyond just 'cultural information' and expand on the practical applications of science with more sophisticated reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often mechanical and sometimes disjointed. While transition words like 'on the one hand' and 'in conclusion' are used, they are sometimes applied incorrectly or follow weak logical links. For example, the transition from the importance of history to the importance of technology is abrupt. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'Without History i thought student may not get enough information about History', which is repetitive and lacks cohesive flow. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would improve the overall structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'important', 'subject', and 'technology'. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'passed information' instead of 'historical knowledge' or 'survival rate is almost zero'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and there is a lack of precision in word choice. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay. Expanding your range to include more academic and precise terminology is essential for a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Science subject have number of streams'), article usage (e.g., 'in currents world'), and punctuation (e.g., 'door are automatic,, cars'). Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often marred by errors. For example, 'if you studied in science and technologies you got a number of option' contains tense and structural inaccuracies. To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, consistent verb tenses, and correct punctuation. Increasing the variety of sentence structures while maintaining accuracy is a key area for development.
