Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The arguments regarding history are vague, relying on general statements about 'freedom fighters' and 'famous authors' without specific, well-explained examples. The mention of a 'newspaper article in 2020' is too brief to serve as a strong supporting example. Similarly, the points regarding science and technology are repetitive, focusing primarily on 'earning money' and 'practical knowledge'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your arguments with more detailed reasoning and clearer, more relevant examples that directly support your claims.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in the argument. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed due to awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For example, the sentence 'So, history is the medium via students can learn...' feels abrupt. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'which they actually not seen at their time', which makes it difficult to track the intended meaning. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words would enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some basic terms repeatedly, such as 'knowledge', 'subjects', and 'learn'. There are also several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'wellbeing ability', 'grab difficult situations', and 'give more enthesis'. Spelling errors, such as 'genious', 'feom', 'gai', 'Ingormation', 'sainik', 'qnd', and 'enthesis', are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations and proofreading your work to eliminate basic spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'subjects like science and technology has'), missing articles, and incorrect preposition usage. Some sentences are poorly constructed, such as '...freedom fighters that how they sacrificed their lives', which impedes clarity. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents the response from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring consistent subject-verb agreement.
