Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the arguments regarding history are quite general, focusing on museums and architecture without deep analysis of its societal value. Similarly, the points on science and technology are somewhat repetitive, focusing on 'better knowledge' and 'fast networks'. To achieve a higher band, you should provide more specific, nuanced examples and extend your reasoning to explain why these subjects are truly essential for modern society.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'In addition to this', and 'Turning towards', which helps the flow. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and sentence-level cohesion. For example, the phrase 'the worthmentioning point' is slightly awkward. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several spelling errors ('peragraph', 'prespective', 'yougth', 'settelites', 'gallories') and some imprecise word choices, such as 'simple world' and 'moderate world'. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'architecture' and 'Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome', the range is somewhat limited. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure you proofread for common spelling mistakes, which currently detract from the professional tone of your essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('a few individual', 'both point of views has'), missing articles ('in current world', 'in favour of importance of history subject'), and awkward phrasing ('It is believed by a few individual'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and article usage before attempting more complex structures.
