Student answer (Band 6.0)
Education plays a significant role in shaping a students lives. It is often argued that History is one of the significant educational subjects. While others believe that subjects related to technology and Science are more essential than History. This essay will explore both sides of arguments, before reaching a logical opinion.
Supporters of History subjects argue that it brings several benefits. A key reason is that students should aware from world history. They should learn from past mistakes, and how their forefathers sacrifices for their country. This leads to motivate students to work hard in their academic subjects and keep love their living place, and family. For instance, a country like Japan, where educational system explain the history of Heroshima Nakasoki incident, when USA sent nuclear bomb in 1945 and killed 100,00 people. This historic event motivates students to work hard in their studies to improve their country, and they praised their families, and country people for their sacrifices, which lead to improve society culture and help student in their education.
On the other hand, opponents believe that science and technology subjects raise valid concerns. This is mainly because we are living in fast paced world, where science, and AI tools become essential for studies, and professional lives. Therefore, if students focus more on their science and artificial subjects, which result help them to get better opportunities after their school lives. India in a good example of this, where teenagers often focus on science and technology subjects, which directly help them in their higher education studies, then in better job placement.
In conclusion, while both perspectives have merit, I personally believe science and technology subjects carries more weight overall because it helps students in their academic career, and due to competitive job market it provides better job opportunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples like Japan and India, the explanation of how these subjects specifically impact students is a bit repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the link between the Hiroshima incident and academic motivation is asserted rather than fully explored. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are more thoroughly explained and directly linked to the prompt's core question about the relative importance of these subjects in the modern world.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into four paragraphs, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand', 'Therefore', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'science and artificial subjects', which makes the progression of ideas feel slightly mechanical. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the transition between the historical example and the conclusion of that paragraph. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'significant', 'forefathers', and 'competitive job market'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'science and artificial subjects' (likely meaning 'artificial intelligence') and 'praised their families' (perhaps meaning 'appreciated'). Some phrasing is also repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'subjects' and 'students'. To improve, focus on using more precise terminology and collocations that sound natural in an academic context, and try to vary your vocabulary to avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'shaping a students lives' (should be 'students' lives'), 'students should aware from' (should be 'should be aware of'), and 'Heroshima Nakasoki' (spelling errors). Subject-verb agreement is also inconsistent, such as 'science and technology subjects carries' (should be 'carry'). While you attempt complex sentences, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and preposition usage.
