Student answer (Band 5.5)

There is always a debate about whether history should be a part of course content in education sectors or not. A group of individuals think that science and technology are more instrumental than history so it should be eliminated from the course content in education sectors. Whereas, another school of thouht is that history being the integral subject should be the part of school subjects.

Both point of views have their own importance and respectable. History and Science are both integral for students technical and spirtual growth. Arguabely, History is not something that we can remove from our education systems because this is the subject that reveals our students about how science and technology is evolved and it also provide basic knowledge of every scientific concept, which is indispensable for further development in that area of scienec and technology.

For example if a student does not know about history that, how internal combustion engines were first came into existance and who discovered those, then within time what alterations were made to improve them. They can not better understand the concept and ultimately they become unable to bring innovation in the engines.

Moreover, history is not just instrumental for further innovation in science and technology but it also play an instrumental role in building student's chracter and let them know about their traditions and cultures, there ansectors had been following for years and allow them to adapt those spirtual and traditional values.

In summary, I would say that both history and science have their own importance and role in student's development and none of them can be eliminated from course content.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that history is important for scientific development, the example regarding internal combustion engines is a bit repetitive and could have been expanded with more depth. The discussion on character building is relevant but remains brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with more specific detail or a broader range of arguments. The position is consistent throughout, but the overall depth of analysis is more characteristic of a mid-range band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'In summary' to link your points. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or forced, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph could be more sophisticated. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could benefit from more varied cohesive markers to improve the overall flow and readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'instrumental', 'indispensable', and 'evolution'. However, there are several spelling errors ('thouht', 'arguabely', 'scienec', 'chracter', 'ansectors') and some awkward collocations ('reveals our students about how science... is evolved'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and expanding your use of academic collocations to express your ideas more naturally and precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Both point of views have their own importance and respectable') and tense inconsistencies ('how internal combustion engines were first came into existance'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors that affect the polish of the writing. To achieve a higher score, focus on reducing these frequent errors and ensuring that your complex sentence structures are grammatically sound.
