Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is always a debate about whether history should be a part of course content in education sectors or not. A group of individuals think that science and technology are more instrumental than history so it should be eliminated from the course content in education sectors. Whereas, another school of thouht is that history being the integral subject should be the part of school subjects.
Both point of views have their own importance and respectable. History and Science are both integral for students' technical and spirtual growth. Arguably, history is not something that we can remove from our education systems because this is the subject that reveals our students about how science and technology is evolved and it also provide basic knowledge of every scientific concept, which is indispensable for further development in that area of scienec and technology.
For example if a student does not know about history that, how internal combustion engines were first came into existance and who discovered those, then within time what alterations were made to improve them. They can not better understand the concept and ultimately they become unable to bring innovation in the engines. Moreover, history is not just instrumental for further innovation in science and technology but it also play an instrumental role in building students' chracter and let them know about their traditions and cultures, which there ancestors had been following for years and allow them to adapt those spirtual and traditional values.
In summary, I would say that both history and science have their own importance and role in student's development and none of them can be eliminated from course content.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide an example regarding internal combustion engines, the explanation of why history is essential for character building is quite brief and lacks depth. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully extended with more specific reasoning or examples. The position is consistent throughout, but the overall argument could be more robustly supported to fully satisfy the requirements of a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Moreover' and 'In summary', to link your points. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the discussion of science and the discussion of character building feels a bit abrupt. Improving the variety and sophistication of your linking words would enhance the overall coherence of the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'instrumental', 'indispensable', and 'evolved'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'thouht' instead of 'thought', 'scienec' instead of 'science', and 'chracter' instead of 'character'. Additionally, some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'reveals our students about how'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of precise, error-free vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'Both point of views have their own importance and respectable' (should be 'are respectable') and 'how internal combustion engines were first came into existance' (should be 'came into existence'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage also need attention. These errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text, although they do not impede communication. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy will help improve your score.
