Student answer (Band 5.5)

Each subject has their own importance. Some individuals think that history has many benefits whereas according to other citizens Science and technology has more significant role in today's life. I partially agree with this view. Although technology gives various benefits , the role of history can't be neglected. In upcoming paragraph I will explain both views .

At a first glance , technology makes everyone's life easy because it decreases the workload . In today's era it has become easy to do work with machines . It helps people to give time to take care of health For example washing machines can washing clothes easily as compare to the people do by hands. Additionally , Science and technology gives more important role in medical streams . With the help of technology it has become easy to examine and scan the health problem . It will help to resolve the problem easily before the things will be worst. For instance X-Ray machine can scan the problems in our body.

In other words, history tells us about our past . With this we can learn from our lacking. Now a days, there are many laws which gives people's rights and explains punishment for crimes. In past era some people ruled on other poor people . So, with learning history we can resolve this type of issues. Moreover, history also gives information about different civilsations with which people can safe their cultural memories. For example Hadappa civilisation cleared the customs and places of that time .

Despite, technology gives a high rise to the life, there are a lot things we learned from past which can't be forget.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention technology and history, the arguments remain quite general. For instance, the point about 'washing machines' is a bit simplistic for an academic essay. To reach a higher band, you should aim to extend your arguments with more sophisticated reasoning or specific, well-explained examples. Your position is clear, but the conclusion is abrupt and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'Additionally', 'For instance', and 'In other words'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'At a first glance' or 'Despite, technology gives a high rise'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in the correct context will help improve the overall cohesion of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'medical streams', 'civilisations', and 'customs'. However, there are instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'can't be forget' instead of 'cannot be forgotten' and 'cleared the customs' instead of 'illustrated the customs'. To improve, focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and avoid repeating basic words like 'easy' or 'things'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is usually clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Science and technology has' instead of 'have'), incorrect article usage ('the' before 'history'), and punctuation errors. Additionally, there are structural issues, such as 'washing machines can washing clothes' (should be 'can wash') and 'before the things will be worst' (should be 'before things get worse'). Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors will significantly improve your score.
