Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 167 words. Consequently, the development of ideas is significantly underdeveloped. While the essay attempts to address both views and state an opinion, the arguments regarding history are vague and repetitive, and the section on science and technology lacks specific examples or logical depth. The conclusion is incomplete, as the final sentence is cut off. Due to the severe under-length and the lack of full development of the prompt's requirements, the response is limited in its ability to fully address the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical and sometimes inaccurate way, such as 'Coming to science and innovation has one of the best subject'. The referencing is often unclear, and the lack of sufficient length prevents the development of a coherent argument. The abrupt ending further disrupts the flow of the essay, making the overall structure feel incomplete and disjointed.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'RELEVANT' (written as 'RELAVANT'), 'VIEWS' ('VIWES'), 'HAPPENED' ('HAPPEND'), and 'LEARNING' ('LEARING'). The word choice is often imprecise, for example, 'last days' to refer to the past and 'run with' to describe the prevalence of technology. The student struggles to use less common vocabulary effectively, and the errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding of the intended meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('HISTORY HAS ALWAYS BEEN CONSIDER'), incorrect verb forms ('FOLLOWED THESE RULE CAB BE CONSIDERED'), and missing articles or prepositions. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences are often faulty or incomplete. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing spaces after periods throughout the text. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and demonstrate a limited control of grammatical structures.
