Student answer (Band 5.5)

The topic of history is a fundamental topic over the world in school system . Science and technology at the same time are important , couldn't deny the importance of both .

Today's world is a technological and AI based world where things and environment are becoming powerful as we compared it to the past . In other words we are living in dynamic world . Like AI engineering is spreading all over the world , but at the same time every thing has flaws and drawbacks .

But if the history is diminished , the progress would also be stopped. The reason is that if we didn't know what is our past and what the progress was that time and what the trends was that time and why we need these sort of things .So basically these subjects are inter linked and we have to carry the both subjects at the same time . For instance , in agriculture field the history clearly told us about the major factor of time and work . People used to work for hours and required hard work for the whole procedure . Now the work is done in minutes and sometimes in seconds only because of technology advancement . There are lot of examples we have not only in agriculture , in many other fields .

The issue of health is considered the most crucial topic in both subjects like history give the information about diseases and organic effects of various things but the technology and science work on it in detail . Now laser treatments and many new things are happening and it saves the lives of many people .

In my opinion both are comparatively hand on hand but the need is to ameliorated the history books a tweak batter and exclude the unnecessary information which is not relevant to there niche .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention agriculture and health as examples, the connection between history and these fields is not fully explained or logically linked to the prompt's core debate. The argument that history is necessary for progress is mentioned, but it lacks depth. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed point that directly supports your stance, rather than listing general observations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is often disjointed. Transitions such as 'In other words' and 'For instance' are used, but they sometimes feel forced or do not accurately reflect the relationship between sentences. For example, the transition from discussing AI to the importance of history is abrupt. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as the vague use of 'these sort of things'. Improving the flow between sentences would significantly enhance the clarity of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing and some word-choice errors occur, such as 'ameliorated the history books a tweak batter' and 'there niche'. These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the topic of education and technological advancement, while ensuring that your spelling and word forms are accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You frequently make errors with articles ('the history', 'the agriculture field'), subject-verb agreement ('what the trends was'), and punctuation. Some sentences are fragmented or lack proper structure, such as 'Science and technology at the same time are important , couldn't deny the importance of both'. While these errors do not completely prevent communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader and indicate a lack of control over complex grammatical forms.
