Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this rapidly evolving world education is the most important thing to be learned. Few individuals prefers that the history should be the important subject to be studied meanwhile, significant people tend to study science and technology as a primary and important subject. According to me, science and history should be equally studied.
History is also a important subject because learning about ancestors and past civilization is also an important aspect of our life. History tells us our mistake that we made in past years and it will be our guidance for our future to prevent that type of similar mistakes. But science and technology will make our future more perfect because by only this industry our life will me more easy and comfortable.
On the other hand, in my opinion, studying science and technology is also imperative for current generation because it will lead to the invention and innovation. Nowadays, almost all our daily activities use technological advancements, such as computers, artificial intelligence, and internet connections, which leads to the enhancement of quality life as a result of continuous research in the field of science. Moreover, the innovation in artificial intelligence results in an increase in productivity and cost efficiency, which benefits company’s profitability.
Conclusion
In conclusion, studying history is beneficial for humans because it will give a lesson how to be a better human being from the mistakes of previous generations. However, I believe that studying technology is more relevant because it will lead to innovation to facilitate human’s daily lives

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the importance of history is touched upon, the argument for science and technology is more thoroughly supported with specific examples like artificial intelligence and internet connectivity. The conclusion contradicts the introduction; in the introduction, you state that both subjects should be studied equally, but in the conclusion, you state that technology is 'more relevant'. To achieve a higher band, ensure your position is consistent throughout the essay and provide more balanced development for both sides of the argument.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to link your thoughts. However, the transition between the first and second body paragraphs is slightly abrupt, and the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences occasionally feels mechanical. Improving the variety of cohesive devices will help the text read more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'rapidly evolving', 'imperative', 'innovation', and 'cost efficiency'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'significant people' (which is unclear in this context) and 'make our life will me more easy' (a grammatical and lexical slip). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the precision is sometimes lacking. To improve, focus on using collocations more accurately and ensuring that your word choices precisely convey your intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'Few individuals prefers' (subject-verb agreement), 'a important subject' (article usage), and 'our life will me more easy' (spelling/word choice). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage. Additionally, try to incorporate more complex sentence structures, such as conditional clauses or passive voice, to demonstrate greater grammatical control.
