Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people believe that history is important while others believe science and technology are mire important. Both people has their different logic. I personally think learning history is important but learning science and technology are more important.
History is a topic or subject which enables us to learn how people from ancient time used to live, what they used to believe. As a human, we need to learn this things certainly. In order to learn about history, students should go to meusium and other historical places like Mahasthangarh, Pahar pur, Ahsan Manzil etc. Every year, school should arrange study tour for their students.
However, learning about science and technology make a student a better skilled person. We know that we are living in the age of science and technology. Science has worked like a magic in life. We can't think of a day without scince and technology. From the time we wake from bed till go back sleep, there is not a single time when we don’t use technology. Technology has made our life comfortable and easier. Now we stay warm during winter with the help of room heater. On the other hand, we stay cool during scorching heat of summer. Before the invasion of modern technology, people used suffer during harsh winter and harsh summer. Not only the weather, technology also has a great impact in other sector like transport, computer, mobile, AI etc. Technology also made easier the life of farmers and labourers. Again, it has contribution in madical sector too.
Therefore, according to my perspective, learning history is important while learning science and technology are more important.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the section on science and technology is well-supported with specific examples like room heaters and AI, the discussion on history is quite brief and relies on a list of locations rather than a deeper exploration of why history is important for modern society. The conclusion is a simple restatement of the introduction, lacking a summary of the main points. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more balanced development for both viewpoints.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'However', 'On the other hand', and 'Therefore'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as 'Both people has their different logic', which does not effectively link back to the prompt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'ancient time', 'scorching heat', and 'medical sector'. However, there are several spelling errors ('meusium', 'scince', 'madical') and some awkward phrasing, such as 'Both people has their different logic'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic descriptors. To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of key terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('Both people has', 'learning science and technology are') and article usage. Some sentences are also slightly ungrammatical, such as 'As a human, we need to learn this things certainly'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. Increasing the accuracy of basic grammatical structures should be a priority.
