Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, reaching only 90 words. Because the essay is incomplete, it fails to address all parts of the task. The introduction presents a clear position, but the body paragraph is cut off mid-sentence, preventing the development of ideas or the inclusion of a conclusion. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. To improve, you must ensure you complete the essay structure by providing fully developed arguments for both sides and a clear summary, while meeting the minimum word count requirement to allow for sufficient depth of analysis.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is too short to demonstrate a full range of cohesive devices or effective paragraphing. While there is a basic attempt at logical organization with an introductory paragraph and the start of a body paragraph, the abrupt ending makes it impossible to assess the overall progression of ideas. The use of linking words like 'To begin with' is appropriate, but the lack of completion limits the ability to manage cohesion effectively. To achieve a higher score, you need to write a full essay with clear paragraph transitions and a logical flow that connects your arguments to your stated position.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally accurate but limited in range. Phrases such as 'significant subjects' and 'play an important role' are functional but basic. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'science and technology', but the limited length of the text prevents the demonstration of a wider or more sophisticated lexical range. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and collocations related to the topic of education and societal progress, rather than relying on high-frequency, general-purpose words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammar is generally clear, but the range of structures is limited. You used a compound-complex sentence in the introduction, which is a positive sign, but the overall brevity of the text restricts the assessment of your grammatical control. There are minor issues, such as 'in nowadays life', which is non-standard; it should be 'in modern life' or 'in today's world'. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of complex sentence structures, such as conditional clauses or passive voice, while ensuring accuracy in your phrasing.
