Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. While you mention the importance of history for patriotism and science for innovation, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The attempt to link science to the knowledge of enemies is somewhat unclear and tangential. To improve, you should focus on expanding your points with more logical reasoning and clearer real-world examples. The structure is present, but the content needs more substance to fully satisfy the requirements of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often repetitive (e.g., 'and also', 'because'). There is a lack of transition words to connect ideas between sentences and paragraphs, making the flow of the argument disjointed. Referencing is often unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'her' and 'his' used inconsistently to refer to countries or students. To achieve a higher score, you need to use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') to guide the reader through your argument more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'handsome people' (likely meant 'other people') and 'complrtly not agree'. Many words are used incorrectly, which occasionally forces the reader to guess your meaning. You rely on a very narrow range of vocabulary, repeating words like 'important', 'subject', and 'country' throughout the text. To improve, you should focus on learning synonyms and collocations relevant to academic topics like education and national development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'history all reminded ours forfathers'), sentence structure, and punctuation. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, making them difficult to follow. You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences are often marred by errors in word order and tense usage. To improve, you must focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that each sentence has a clear subject and verb, and work on consistent verb tense usage.
