Student answer (Band 5.0)
So as we know very well that we are living in the age of science and technology so if we don't take interest in the technology and not walk with the requirements of the society and world then we do not become successful in life and we will be defeated. The man should be competent then he compete and be successful in life otherwise the time is not to stop for anyone.
So the study of science and technology is very important and will be very useful for the person who studied them and also will be beneficial for the progress of society.
Now if we can say that their is no meaning of life without science and technology then it is not false statement. So technology is very important as subjects.
The next theme of discussion of is that the study of the science and technology is more important than the history. But in my personal opinion it is not true because if we forget our history and past then their is no meaning of the success. Because if we don't know that what was happen in the past then we will not be able to achieve something.
So i think that the study of history is also important as the study of science and technology because they have equally importance in the success and glory. Past reflects the difficulties and achievements which was achieved by our ancestors and foerfather's. So we should prefer both subjects their no way to leave or skip to anyone subject.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For example, the argument for science and technology is stated multiple times without providing specific examples or deeper analysis of why these subjects are essential for modern society. Similarly, the defense of history relies on vague statements about 'success' and 'ancestors' rather than exploring how historical knowledge contributes to critical thinking or cultural identity. To improve, you should aim to expand your points with concrete examples or logical explanations that go beyond general assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between the importance of technology and the importance of history is abrupt. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'So' and 'Because', they are used repetitively and often incorrectly at the start of sentences, which makes the flow feel mechanical. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'there is no way to leave or skip to anyone subject', which is confusing. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive. Phrases like 'very important' and 'successful in life' are used multiple times, indicating a limited range. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'not walk with the requirements of the society' (instead of 'keep pace with') and 'foerfather's' (spelling error). The essay lacks the more sophisticated or academic vocabulary required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to education and societal progress, and try to avoid repeating the same adjectives throughout your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('the time is not to stop'), article usage ('the study of the science'), and sentence structure (run-on sentences and fragments). For instance, 'The man should be competent then he compete' lacks proper conjunctions or punctuation. While there is an attempt at complex sentences, they are often faulty. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
