Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments for History are vague, relying on repetitive phrases like 'learn history about many things' without specific examples. The arguments for Science and technology are slightly better developed with the mention of career paths like 'doctor' or 'engineer', but the explanation remains superficial. To reach a higher band, you need to provide more depth and specific, logical reasoning for why these subjects are important in a modern context, rather than simply stating they are 'helpful' or 'enjoyable'.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. For example, 'This to knowledge' is an unclear reference, and the transition 'In conclude' is non-standard. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is often repetitive, such as the repeated mention of 'Science and technology' as a 'subject' in every sentence of the second body paragraph. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to previous nouns would significantly improve the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. You frequently use basic terms like 'important', 'things', and 'good'. There are also issues with word formation and collocation, such as 'teachers learning to pupils' (should be 'teachers teach pupils') and 'they are achieve their goal'. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to education and technology, and practice using synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay. Expanding your range of adjectives and verbs will help convey your points more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('There are many people say'), article usage ('the one of the most important'), and tense consistency ('they are built their own life'). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, such as 'Today's generation are use many technology'. You rely heavily on simple sentence structures. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of auxiliary verbs, before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
