Student answer (Band 5.5)

Few individual think that History is one of the major school subject.while other pupil think that nowadays Science and technology should be prefer than History. I partially agree with this statement and i will discuss about my points in the following writing.

On the one hand, these days Science has raised it's standards. Moreover individual can easily seek information with the help of technology and Science is one of the most interesting subject as it teaches about body functioning for organisms. Even though Science offers alot of career option. for example: youngster can plan for any medical field job. Adding to this, technology helps to think sharply and increase mental power of individuals.

On the other hand,History is also good subject as it provides huge knowledge. for example: information regarding past history events whereas it boost interest for thinking about happening of world. Although teach about past wars fought on global level. But there is lowe chances to have bright future as my teens take it as a boring subject. However, it can be Interesting if the teacher teaches in interesting or better way.

To conclude, I assert that every subject in the school is important for settled future. The way of teaching matters alot if the method is interesting obviously student will show more Interest for every subject.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but the development is insufficient. The essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the arguments. While you mention the importance of Science and History, the points are underdeveloped and lack specific, well-explained examples. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, you must expand on your ideas with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the minimum word count requirement to allow for a full discussion of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate, such as the abrupt transition 'But there is lowe chances' and the repetitive use of 'for example'. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between the benefits of History and the reasons students find it boring is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'individual' instead of 'individuals' and 'lowe chances' instead of 'lower chances'. You rely on basic vocabulary like 'good subject' and 'big', which limits your ability to express complex ideas. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and improve the sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Few individual think'), article usage (e.g., 'in the school'), and punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after periods. The misuse of 'it's' (possessive) instead of 'its' is also a recurring error. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and subject-verb consistency.
