Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern era, many individual believe that history is the subject which is crucial for students, and others think subjects like science and technology are widely important than history for this modern generation people. Although, history is beneficial for students knowledge but I think science and technology is widely needed in this technology driven world.
To begin with, it is very important for student to study subjects such as science and technology because the current scenerio shows that technology is the thing that will drive the whole world. Therefore, it is important for student to have a certain knowledge about such things to sustain in this modern time. Moreover, students would be prepare for the upcomig advancement in the field of technolgy and they would be able to think creatively during their academic career. For instance, in current situation almost majority of the task are automated using AI and if students will not aware about such technolgy then it would be difficult for them to survive in this world.
On the other hand, history is the thing that tells students about the past acheivements and the sacrifices that are made by the leaders. Furthermore, it is important for students to learn from this past achievements made by people and could implement it in future to recreate successful history. For example, a student from ahmedabad school has recreated a model which solves majority of the complex mathematical problems efficiently which were not possible before and he took reference from past scientist theory to solve issue.
To conclude, there are certain benefits such as student can get to know about past achievements and could take reference from it. Although, I firmly believe that it is widely important for student to study science and technology to survive in this technology driven world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on whether history or science and technology are more important, and provides a clear personal opinion. The writer argues for science and technology while acknowledging history's benefits. Ideas are generally relevant, such as mentioning automation and past leaders, but some points lack full extension and suffer from minor logic leaps (e.g., the example about the Ahmedabad school student solving complex math problems using past scientist theories). The position is maintained throughout the essay. This performance aligns well with Band 6.0 descriptors, as all parts of the task are addressed, though some ideas remain somewhat under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, moving logically from an introduction to body paragraphs discussing each side, and concluding with a summary and final stance. Cohesive devices are employed, such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand', although referencing and transitions can occasionally feel mechanical. For instance, the transition 'history is the thing that tells students' is overly colloquial and simple. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points of discussion. Overall, the organizational structure meets the criteria for Band 6.0, providing a logical progression despite some mechanical cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common terms such as 'technology-driven world', 'automation', and 'advancement'. However, there are notable lexical errors and imprecise word choices throughout the text, including 'many individual' instead of 'individuals', 'widely important' instead of 'more important', and 'scenerio' instead of 'scenario'. Spelling mistakes ('acheivements', 'upcomig', 'technolgy') also appear. While communication is not impeded, these inaccuracies and limited precision prevent the response from achieving a higher band. This corresponds comfortably to a Band 6.0 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting complex structures using conjunctions like 'Although' and 'if'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('many individual believe', 'almost majority of the task are automated'), missing articles ('student can get', 'take reference'), and awkward phrasing ('if students will not aware'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the frequency of grammatical inaccuracies restricts the score. Because the errors do not severely impede communication and a mix of structures is attempted, this performance warrants a Band 5.5.
