IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Some people say History is one of the most important school subjects. Other people think that in today’s world subjects like Science and technology are more important than History.

Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant example form your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this present era, this debatable issue has now become more controversial. Majority of society claims that History is one of the most crucial subject for individuals but on the other hand few people consider that Science and technology subjects are more important and play vital role regarding this matter. The issue may raise a range of arguments on both sides. I will discuss my perspective which will lead a logical conclusion. The subject is mixture of two confounding thoughts.

The first group absolutely holds that Technology is increasing rapidly day by day. I believe that Science and technology plays vital role in Students life but on the other hand history has its own place Science and technology are much important in now a time due to fact that Sciene and technology fields have brighter future for individuals. For instance, it gives you more opportunity to find some jobs in this field and start coureer in this fields. To being a student technology plays impressive role in file. Another important aspect in this regard is that mostly people rely on technology like Mobile phones or numerous other technology things like Air conditioner it makes our life more easy peasy and it many valuable results in life. So it is compulsory for our students to learn things that are related to Science and technolgy.

The Second group absolutely holds that history are always important for youth grooming. It have very benefical affects regarding this matter.From my perspective I would say it is compulsory for students to get informed about history matters due to fact that students always known about how our grey hair people survive in past. In addition, I would say that it helps us to uderstand how the world has change overtime. History teaches about the mistakes and acheivments of past generations. By learning about past inventions, wars, we can avoid repeating the same mistakes and make better decisions in future. Moreover, the history of independence of pakistan helps young people understand the struggles and sacrifice of our ansectors.

To cap it all, the transmitted thoughts of both sides are worthly enough.In my opinion neither its pros can be neglected nor it cons. It is a mixed bag of positive and negative factors. After all, the discussion overwhelming me to agree with both statements both plays a crucial or significant role in our life.

Cohesive devices are either overused in a repetitive template fashion or omitted where needed for smooth transitions. These issues place the response firmly in the Band 5.0 territory.

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, frequently relying on high-frequency terms such as "important," "subject," "technology," and "history."
