Some people say History is one of the most important school subjects. Other people think that in today’s world subjects like Science and technology are more important than History.

Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant example form your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's rapidly evolving world, consistent academic learning has become an indispensable, as it equips learners with a great range of competencies and credentials. Meanwhile a substantial number of individuals debate whether historical subjects are significant or practical disiplines including science and technology, for students. This essay will discuss both assumptions before explaining my perspective.

To commence with, proponents emphasis the view that historical diciplines enhance their theoretical knowledge regarding ancestral practices, cultural heritage, traditions, customs and values, which allows them to connect withthe past generations. Moreover, in recent years, a considerable number of graduates migrate abroad nations. Therefore, they can promote their historical sites' knowledge to foreigners, and draw international tourists. As a consequence, it can build nation's strong identity, discouraging authorities to abolish ancient building and preserve local culture.

By contrast, opponents believe that science and technology constitue a wide range of practical expertise and hands-on experiences, including technology adoptionalong with space exploration. Admittedly, these subjects are crucial in order to become a doctor, an engineerand a scientist, allowing adolescents to secure a beneficial professional opportunities accompanied with well-paid remunerations. Moreover, if a nation has a significant number of experts and knowlegable employees, they can contribute to the contry's economic prodctivity. This is because countries with a large number of scientists can contribute to invent sophisticated digital interventions along with technological breakthroughs, and invented products and services can sale other nations, for generating a substantial amount of revenue with lucrative foreign exchange economy.

In my opinion, history is a vital part of cultural traditions. However, in today's fast-paced revolutionised world, adolescents require practical expertise to secure jobs regarding their careerprospects.

To conclude, although including historical disiplines into academic learnig is a beneficial way to conserve ancient culture, it would be less essential for youngsters to get a suitable employment opportunities that meet their interest.
