Student answer (Band 5.5)

There is an ongoing debat that some people have mindset that history is the most important subject in school meanwhile some thinks that science and technology is the most important subject in present world. In my opinion science, technology and history all are most important subjects in schools.

In today's world every thing is based on science and technolgy. We all have phones and computers which is based on technolgy. We contact each other, if we need any advice about our business the first thing we do is google, if a struggling student need any help he will research about his need and he will get a good option.Science is also a important subject, if we have technologies we also need science in it. A farmer do farming he need both in his farming, he needs medicine, machines, and other things which are happened with the help of science and technology.

whereas, history is a subject which is important teches us lesson from past.History is important for advocates because they all need previous decisions about their relevant case so that it helps them in their case History is important for students that if any mistake has adpoted in past that should not be adopted by the fucture children in their fucture. For example if there is a leader he will remember history that there a war which destories our economy, our peace and other things

in conculsion, I want to say if we will seperates these subjects we will destory our eduacational system.we want to build our child future both subjects are imortant. For example, if student build a software with the help of science and technonlogy, history will guide him about the tools.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that history is vital and that science and technology are more important—while clearly stating the writer's own opinion that all three subjects are essential. Ideas are presented, such as the utility of technology in daily life and history's role in guiding future decisions and legal contexts. However, the development of these ideas tends to be repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the examples regarding farming and legal cases are somewhat generalised and underdeveloped. Because the writer covers all task requirements and maintains a clear position throughout, the performance aligns best with the Band 6 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, paragraphing is somewhat irregular, and cohesive devices are frequently faulty or mechanical, as seen with transitions like 'whereas,' 'in conculsion,' and repetitive sentence structures starting with clauses like 'if...'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronoun use referring back to vague antecedents. Overall organisation is present, but progression lacks sophistication, making this fit securely into the Band 5 to Band 6 range. Given the logical division of ideas despite mechanical cohesion, a score of 5.5 is appropriate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate basic ideas about education, science, and history. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as 'debat,' 'technolgy,' 'teches,' 'adpoted,' 'fucture,' 'seperates,' 'eduacational,' and 'imortant.' The range of vocabulary is limited, with frequent repetition of common words like 'important' and 'subject.' While these errors do not completely impede communication, the frequency of lexical inaccuracies and spelling mistakes prevents the response from reaching Band 6.0, placing it firmly at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, frequently using conditional structures ('if we need any advice...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, incorrect verb forms ('a farmer do farming he need'), punctuation issues, and missing articles ('with the help of science and technology'). These errors are noticeable and can cause some difficulty for the reader, although meaning is usually retrievable. The presence of frequent structural inaccuracies and poor control over punctuation places this response at Band 5.0, where attempts at complex sentences are often faulty.
