Student answer (Band 6.0)
The importance of History subjects in school has become a widely discussed topic in recent years. Some people argue that it still has a significant value in today's world, while others oppose this and believe that subjects such as Science and technology replaced it. In my opinion, both sides have valid points, and considering them equally provides a more balanced perspective on this topic.
On the one hand, the History subjects represents the country's culture and sacrifices. Nowdays, many students learn from past stories and overcome the difficulties in their lives. For instance, learning history can give the students an opportunity to take a part in the cultural events. Furthermore, it can enhance student's knowledge and give them a chance to learn how previous generations lived. As a result, children feel bless of how they have all the comfort.
On the other hand, critics argue that science and technology are more vital in this generation, because history cannot solve today's modern problems. Moreover, by learning about new technologies students can innovate new products. For example, those who studies technology can play an important role in the society, by developing new robots and machines which can help the society to automate particular task. As a result, the country can grow economically and financially.
In conclusion, although history has its own value in terms of culture and learning from the past, science and technology also play a crucial role in this generation. A balanced appraoch works best, student should learn both the History and the Science subject to be successful in life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on history versus science and technology, and a clear personal position is presented in the introduction and conclusion. However, some ideas remain under-developed. For example, the point about how learning history gives students an opportunity to take part in cultural events is stated without sufficient elaboration or concrete support. Similarly, the arguments regarding science and technology touch on automation and economic growth, but these concepts could be pushed further with deeper analysis. To reach a higher level, every main idea needs to be fully extended and supported with robust examples or reasoning rather than generalized assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a logical division of paragraphs, separating the introduction, the view on history, the view on science and technology, and the conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'Furthermore,' and 'On the other hand' are employed to guide the reader through the arguments. Nevertheless, the progression between sentences occasionally feels mechanical, and referencing is not always completely clear, such as the ambiguous pronoun use in 'feel bless of how they have all the comfort.' To achieve a higher standard, paragraph transitions could be smoother, and cohesive devices should be integrated more naturally without relying on repetitive formulas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'significant value,' 'automate particular task,' and 'economically and financially.' However, there are noticeable lexical errors, awkward word choices, and morphological inaccuracies throughout the text, including 'History subjects' instead of 'History,' 'Nowdays' (spelling), 'feel bless' instead of 'blessed,' and the incorrect subject-verb agreement in 'those who studies technology.' Additionally, terms like 'appraoch' contain minor spelling slips. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the score because precision and control over less common vocabulary are not yet fully consistent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures like concessive clauses ('although history has its own value...') and relative clauses ('...which can help the society...'). There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, such as article misuse ('the History subjects represents,' 'the Science subject'), prepositional errors ('take a part'), and comma splices or missing punctuation in complex sentences, most notably in the final sentence ('student should learn both...'). Fortunately, these errors are relatively infrequent and rarely impede overall communication. To move to the next level, the writer needs to produce a higher frequency of error-free complex sentences with tighter control over articles and agreement.
