Student answer (Band 5.0)
Today, World known as a Global Village which means all things are related with technolgy and science. So our discussion on History vs Science and Technology. Both are important school subjects with different aspects and point of view.
First, we discuss History as an important school subject . Its very important to know about history of yours and their leaders and our destination also relate with our history. Many students have not any goal and dreams to fullfill it and they understand theirs life have no means, Student does not get success in their life without kowledge of history.
Science and Technology also an important school subject. Students have their own ability to make their own world and its possible if they are experts of science and technology. All things in the world looks like it is magical but many things have reasons that how it is exist. Science answers these questions whose related with how, what and why.
My point of view is both are important to improve and expert students. For example, like students should know about Albert Einstein and Issac Newton whose are legends of their era and this is associated with history. Then students try to learn and understand their objectives, experiments and innovation and this is associated with science and technology.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the task only partially and fails to meet the minimum length requirement, containing only 216 words instead of the required 250. While the essay attempts to discuss both views regarding history versus science and technology, the ideas are quite limited and under-developed. For instance, the argument that students 'does not get success in their life without kowledge of history' is an over-generalization and lacks clear explanation. Furthermore, the writer's own opinion is introduced somewhat weakly in the final paragraph by stating that both subjects are important to 'expert students,' rather than clearly sustaining a well-developed position throughout the essay. To improve, the writer must expand the response to meet the word count, fully develop each viewpoint with concrete examples, and maintain a clearer, more consistent personal stance.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organization present, with the response divided into an introduction, body paragraphs addressing each viewpoint, and a conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression across the essay. Cohesive devices are basic, repetitive, or inaccurate, such as starting paragraphs with abrupt transitional phrases like 'First, we discuss History' and 'Science and Technology also an important school subject.' Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow within paragraphs is disjointed. For example, the transition between discussing historical figures and science in the final paragraph lacks smooth logical linking. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to employ a wider range of cohesive devices naturally and ensure that sentences and paragraphs progress logically from one idea to the next without abrupt shifts.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items such as 'global village' and 'innovation,' but there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include spelling 'technolgy' instead of technology, using 'expert students' as a verb or awkward adjective, and writing 'Issac Newton' and 'whose' instead of 'who are.' There is also repetition of basic words like 'important,' 'subjects,' and 'students.' To achieve a higher score, the writer must use a broader range of vocabulary more accurately, pay closer attention to word formation and spelling, and employ more precise collocations suited to an academic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors. Attempts at complex or compound sentences are often faulty, such as in the phrase 'Students have their own ability to make their own world and its possible if they are experts of science and technology,' which lacks necessary punctuation and apostrophes. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and articles, including 'history of yours and their leaders,' 'Student does not get success,' and questions 'whose related with.' These errors frequently cause difficulty and strain for the reader. To improve, the writer needs to incorporate a wider mix of complex sentence forms with better control over grammar, tense consistency, and punctuation.
