Student answer (Band 5.0)

We can see the differrent between people thinking around us some people says the history is important subject in school and other people says the world subject science and technology is more important than history we have these two mindset of people they have own opinion about this but if we can discuss about this then we can see for the students bright future both are very important because we can take only sceince and technology then the students dont know how much struggle suffer there parents time engineer and there grand parents time engineers they dont know about wolrd famous engineer scientist they dont get to be motivated but if can take both science and technology and history then students knows about there country contribtion in the wolrd there struggles and most famous scientists like Dr.Abdul Kalam Azaad and students can set there rolemodels for there future and we can see the most intelligent scientist and engineers again so in my own opion there are both mindset is more important for our study culture history ,science and technology they all important for our study culture and we can perform well with these all subjects and one more time we can discuss again with the example

just suppose we have 3 students 1st is read history and 2nd is read science and technology and 3rd is read both so we ask them what they want to become in future and what they do for our country and there family then 1st answers is i want to become sceintist like abdul kalam but i dont know where i can start because science and technology is not my subjects then same question ask to 2nd and his answers is i want to become best scientist in this world he knows how to become but he dont who is his rolemodel he just say best scientist then same question from 3rd and his answer is i want to become scientist like Dr.Abdul Kalam Azaad and i know how to become i already study science and technology in my syllabus

then we have the clear answer the 3rd is better because his have clear aim and he knows route how to become

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views on whether history or science and technology are more important, and provides a personal opinion along with an extended hypothetical example. However, the development of ideas remains limited and somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument about role models is introduced and supported through the three-student example, but the reasoning lacks depth and relies heavily on a simplistic narrative structure rather than fully explored academic arguments. The position is stated, but the overall treatment of the prompt is basic, and the ideas are under-developed, reflecting a partial approach to the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organization present, notably through the division into broader thoughts and a supporting hypothetical scenario, but the text lacks a clear overall progression. The writing is characterized by an absence of paragraphing, appearing as a massive block of text, which severely hinders readability. Cohesive devices are minimal, inadequate, and often repetitive, with phrases like 'then we have' and 'same question' overused to link clauses and ideas. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical flow between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for discussing the topic, featuring basic words and frequent errors in spelling, word choice, and word formation. Examples of noticeable lexical issues include 'differrent', 'wolrd', 'sceince', 'contribtion', and 'opion'. The writer attempts to use some less common terms like 'rolemodels' and 'hypothetical', but the execution contains inaccuracies that cause some difficulty for the reader and impede smooth communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical structure is characterized by a very limited range, consisting almost entirely of long, run-on sentences joined by conjunctions or commas rather than proper subordination and punctuation. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to massive run-on structures such as 'just suppose we have 3 students 1st is read history...'. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles throughout the text, which cause significant difficulty for the reader in parsing the intended meaning.
