Student answer (Band 5.5)
Few individuals contend that studying course related to the History is essential in academic institutions. Conversaly, some argue studying sophisticated courses related to Science and innovation have more importance than studying History. In this essay i will discuss these both these perspectives and will give my own personal opinion.
To begin with, indeed studying and learning about the world or any nation's past events is imperative. In this contemprary world, many academic policymakers still include History as a compulsory subject means every pupil is required to pass this course because certain public think that we can acquire substantial amount of beneficial knowledge related to diverse domains. To illustrate, History helps us to know that what the world has been in the past? How research contributed in innovation? What hardles distinct countries faced for making any breakthrough.
Alternatively, in the present world where both the Science and technology are increasingly prevalent in every domain, it has become crucial for students to learn more about these advanced courses rather than focusing on traditional subjects because it helps us to understand how progress are being made in both Science and technology. Moreover, learning about these fields will help students to apply their own approaches to solve any problem effectively because these fields are very potent and contributes in critical thinking. For instance, I have been learning technology for six years and in this period I have published valuable reseach paper in the top journals and have earned significant money but on the other hand my friends who enrolled themselves in History are now working as a tutor and can only afford themselves.
My opinion in is that policymaerks should include this subject as an ellective course and innovative courses ought to be taught in academic institutions because if we will not do this then slowely it will start deteriorating because learning History is futile.
In conclusion, History can be beneficial but if any country wants to make progress than it should implement strict policies regarding studying science and technology in every institution.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on the importance of History versus Science and technology, and provides a clear personal opinion. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack sufficient extension. For example, the explanation of why History helps us is somewhat superficial, relying on general questions ('what the world has been in the past?') rather than concrete elaboration. Similarly, the personal example regarding publishing research and earning money is slightly anecdotal and shifts the focus away from a broader academic discussion of the two subjects. To reach a higher level, the ideas need to be more fully expanded and supported with broader societal examples rather than overly personal narratives.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, the two contrasting views, the writer's opinion, and the final summary. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. Transition markers like 'Conversaly,' 'To begin with,' and 'Alternatively' are employed, but referencing and logical progression are occasionally disrupted by awkward transitions between sentences. For instance, the transition into the personal anecdote feels slightly disjointed from the preceding general arguments about science and critical thinking. To improve, the writer needs to ensure that cohesive devices connect ideas more smoothly and that referencing across sentences remains consistently clear throughout the essay.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items, such as 'contemprary', 'policymakers', and 'deteriorating', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in spelling, word form, and word choice. Examples include spelling mistakes like 'Conversaly' instead of 'Conversely', 'contemprary' instead of 'contemporary', 'hardles' instead of 'hurdles', 'reseach' instead of 'research', and 'policymaerks' instead of 'policymakers'. Additionally, phrasing such as 'acquire substantial amount of beneficial knowledge' and 'afford themselves' demonstrates awkward collocations that cause some difficulty for the reader. A wider and more precise control of lexical items, along with improved accuracy in spelling and word formation, is necessary for a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a limited range of structures, relying on a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex sentences are frequently marred by errors. There are notable issues with article usage, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions within grammatical patterns. For instance, the opening sentence contains an error with the plural noun pattern ('studying course related to the History' instead of 'courses related to history'), and unnecessary articles are introduced in phrases like 'the History'. Other errors include awkward clause structures such as 'means every pupil is required' and 'My opinion in is that'. While these grammatical inaccuracies do not completely obscure the meaning, the frequency of errors in basic patterns and complex constructions impacts the overall clarity and readability of the text.
