Student answer (Band 6.0)
The question of whether humanity subjects or science and technology are important in educational curriculum has sparked heated debate. While both subjects are sedimental in learners future careers, I believe that science is quite crucial in fast faced world in improving the living standards. This essay will discuss both views.
On the one hand, individuals who argue that science and technology is more beneficial than History had in mind the role that scientific inovation play in enhacing the quality of human life. Scientific knowledge has transform how human beings interact with environment. Learning science as resulted to inovations ranging from communication, transport, medicine and food industry. For instance scientific researchs have brought new drugs which are quite reliable in curing contagious diseases. Overall, human beings live an extended and a comfortable life
On the other hand the proponents who believe that History has more gains than science contend that past cannot be know without the knowledge of History. Young generation would learn about the pre-history of human beings and natural environment through historical books. For instance human evolution is a rare concept which other subjects do not give detailed account on the development of man kind. There history have basic concepts that are transcended from one generation to another
In my opinion, while art and humanity subjects aim at educating learners on the moral values of the society , and to become responsible members of the society, I believe STEM subjects like mathematics and physics improve creativity and critical thinking of students, this technical skills are essential in emaliorating well being of individuals.
In conclusion. Thought both curriculums are beneficial in growth and development of students ,the duo should not be ommited in curriculum. However, emphasis need to be place on science subjects by making them compulsory to all students.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for science and technology, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The examples of medical research and learning about human evolution are relevant, and you also recognise that humanities can teach social values. However, the two views are not developed equally: the case for History is mainly that it explains the past, while the science argument includes several areas of impact. Some claims, such as saying STEM improves creativity and critical thinking, would benefit from explanation or a specific example. Keep your position consistent by clarifying whether you favour science or a balanced curriculum with greater emphasis on science, then support that choice more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion, and the ideas generally progress in a sensible order. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, transitions can feel mechanical, and the opinion paragraph partly repeats points from the earlier discussion rather than developing the relationship between them. Some references are also unclear, as in “the duo,” and the conclusion’s opening “Thought both curriculums” makes the connection between ideas harder to follow. Use more precise linking and refer back to each subject explicitly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “scientific innovation,” “contagious diseases,” “human evolution,” and “critical thinking.” These choices show an effort to discuss education and its effects, but inaccurate spelling, word forms, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “sedimental,” “fast faced,” “enhacing,” and “emaliorating”; “humanity subjects” and “scientific researches” are also unnatural or incorrectly formed. The meaning is usually recoverable, so the vocabulary is adequate for the topic, but control is not yet consistent. Prioritise accurate, natural combinations over ambitious wording, and proofread spelling and singular/plural forms. For instance, use “humanities subjects,” “fast-paced world,” and “scientific research.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession structure beginning “While both subjects…” and a relative clause in “drugs which are…”. Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “science and technology is” should take a plural verb, while “scientific innovation play” needs agreement; “Scientific knowledge has transform” also has an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “In my opinion” contains a comma splice before “this technical skills,” and the conclusion uses a full stop after “In conclusion” where a comma is needed. Review agreement and verb forms, and separate or correctly join independent clauses.
