Student answer (Band 6.0)

In modern era, there is an ongoing debate of wheather the history subjects is pivotal or the science and technological ones are pivotal. Both of the subjects holds paramount of importance and given opinions will be elaborated in this essay and my opinion will be provided.

To commence with, the history is essential part of the countries, regions and communities. The history educates every generation about the past events, the bravery of ancestors and numerous accounts of teaching can be extracted from the subject of history especially for the primiary school students. To exemplify, India has argubly the greatest history among the nations, so it is vital to educate the generation the subject of history so they recognise the contributers, sacrifies of forefathers and of the communities. History classes taught to kids has special purpose of making them aware of who they are, how the life used to be and how life changed over the years. However, the history should be shown without biasness, true picture and avoid glorifying the invaders.

On the other hand, the current essential subjects like science and technology holds paramount of importance in todays modern era. Currently, technology is expanding and innovation are happening at very seconds. Teaching this subjects is essential as it will build the skills of modern tech work or how the earth and various elements perform the tasks. For instance, AI classes are now introduced in the school cirriculum, the benefits are students can learn how the AI and ML functions as this technologies are future.

To conclude, I believe that subjects related to science and technology should be valued more, though some history classes once a week to be included.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both perspectives and state a clear preference in the conclusion: science and technology should be valued more, while some history should remain in the curriculum. The discussion of history is supported with relevant points about learning from past events and understanding identity, and the India example gives this view a concrete context. The science-and-technology paragraph also offers a current example through AI and machine-learning classes. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the benefits of science and technology are asserted more than explained, and the conclusion does not give a reason for prioritising them. Develop the comparison by explaining how these subjects prepare students for future work or help solve current problems, then connect that reasoning directly to your opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each viewpoint, and a conclusion. The signposts “To commence with” and “On the other hand” make the shift between perspectives easy to follow, and the examples are placed with the relevant arguments. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some control of progression. At times, however, linking feels formulaic, and some references are unclear—for example, “this subjects” and “these technologies” do not agree with or clearly identify their referents. The opening also promises that both views and your opinion will be discussed, but the opinion is only made explicit at the end. Use clearer links between claims and examples, and make the relationship between your reasons and final position more continuous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “pivotal,” “ancestors,” “innovation,” “curriculum,” and “glorifying,” which helps convey the subject matter. There are also several noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “wheather,” “primiary,” “argubly,” “sacrifies,” and “cirriculum.” Some ambitious phrases are not used naturally: “debate of whether,” “paramount of importance,” and “innovation are happening at very seconds” make the meaning less fluent. The vocabulary is adequate to discuss both subjects, but accuracy and natural collocation are inconsistent. Prioritise precise, familiar academic phrasing, and check spelling and word forms carefully; using fewer ornate expressions accurately will make your argument clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a relative clause in “the benefits are students can learn how the AI and ML functions” and a contrast introduced by “though” in the conclusion. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “the history subjects is” has a number-agreement problem, “Both of the subjects holds” uses the wrong verb form, and “History classes taught to kids has” also has subject–verb disagreement. Articles and sentence construction need attention in phrases such as “history is essential part” and “the benefits are students can learn.” Practise checking each subject against its verb and use articles consistently. Clearer sentence boundaries and more controlled complex clauses would improve accuracy while preserving variety.
